IRU Academy, as part of its Associated Training Partner Recognition Programme, today announced the winners of the 2016 Best Performing Associate Training Institute (ATI). Winning ATIs were commended for their excellent contributions and tireless efforts in driving learning and development initiatives that build the required leadership and competencies to support a sustainable, safe and efficient road transport industry.
This year’s winners are:
Gold – CoB (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Silver – CIPTI (Moldova)
Bronze –TC ASMAP (Ukraine)
IRU Academy ATIs were evaluated on the number of students trained, diversity and quality of IRU Academy training programmes delivered, organisation and participation in Train-the-Trainer events and other IRU Academy seminars, and involvement in and promotion of IRU Academy projects and initiatives.

October 29-30, 2015, according to the invitation of AITA President, Mr. Grigore Bernavschi, Mr. David Vrabel and Eugen Ustus. representatives of the forwarding «LKW WALTER Internationale Transportorganisation AG» company, visited Chisinau. During this period they had a number of meetings with the managers of the transport companies of the Republic of Moldova.
On Friday, October 30, 2015 a working session took place at the premises of AITA where a number of matters related to the arrangement of the transport operations in different regions of the world were discussed. The parties analyzed transport operations from Europe to Iran, a country which demonstrated a great need in different goods recently. Forwarding services of this company spread to other directions and are currently of great need for our transport operators.

The IRU awards prestigious IRU “Top Road Transport Manager” to 70 managers from 15 countries worldwide, for their promotion of safe, secure, environmentally friendly and efficient road transport through their professional experience and managerial achievements.
Geneva – IRU General Assembly today awarded the IRU “Top Road Transport Manager” to 70 managers from 15 countries.
This IRU award was created to honour top managers of road transport companies, engaged in the national or international transport of goods or passengers by road, including taxi companies, whose managerial achievements focus on solutions that improve environmental protection, road safety and productivity.
IRU General Assembly appoints Umberto de Pretto as new Secretary General.
Geneva – The General Assembly of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) today appointed Umberto de Pretto as new Secretary General of the IRU. He replaces IRU Secretary General Martin Marmy and will assume this new function as of 1 June 2013.
IRU President, Janusz Lacny, said “Umberto’s profound background, experience and knowledge of IRU and the road transport industry, gained during his 18 years with the IRU, makes him the best candidate, who will bring a new approach forward with his passion, seemingly endless energy and commitment, to continue building a bright future for the road transport industry, and IRU Members.”
IRU General Assembly honours Martin Marmy by naming him IRU Secretary General Emeritus for his outstanding contribution to serving IRU Members and the road transport industry during his 35 year career at the IRU.
Geneva – Martin Marmy, IRU’s Secretary General for the last 20 years, culminated an illustrious 35 year career with the IRU by being named IRU Secretary General Emeritus in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to serving IRU Members and the road transport industry worldwide.
IRU President, Janusz Lacny, said, “Martin Marmy deserves this recognition due to his personal merit, charisma, exceptional talent and numerous achievements during his 35 years’ career with the IRU and for having successfully led the IRU to new heights as an organisation which today is united, credible, respected and able to work at the highest level with its members and all public and private stakeholders.”
